Es dient in erster Linie der elektronischen Zugriffskontrolle und Zugriffsverwaltung auf Prozesse und Software-Anwendungen. Beim neuen EKS Gerät mit USB-Anschluss ist die Elektronik komplett integriert. Dank der USB-Schnittstelle eignet sich das Gerät speziell für den Anschluss an PC-basierte Steuerungstechnik. Durch Verwendung von Anschlussleitungen mit geradem bzw. gewinkeltem Stecker kann die Leitung in unterschiedliche Richtungen weggeführt werden. Bezüglich Kommunikation zum PC ist das neue Gerät komplett kompatibel mit der bekannten Schlüsselaufnahme mit USB-Schnittstelle. Die Schlüsselaufnahme zeichnet sich durch eine sehr kompakte Bauform sowie eine geringe Einbautiefe aus. Der Einbau in moderne Bedienpanels mit geringem Platzangebot und Montagebohrungen von Ø 22,5 mm ist somit jederzeit möglich. Die geschlossene und abgerundete Form der Schlüsselaufnahme verhindert die Ablagerung von Schmutz und ermöglicht eine einfache Reinigung. Der FDA-zugelassene Kunststoff kann in hygienisch sensiblen Bereichen, wie z. B. der Lebensmittelindustrie, eingesetzt werden. The Electronic-Key-System EKS is a transponder-based read/write system for industrial use. It is used mainly for electronic access control and management for processes and software applications. The new EKS device with USB port features fully integrated electronics. This USB interface allows the device to be connected to PC-based control system technology. Different connecting cables with straight or angled connector permit cable installation in different directions. The new device is fully compatible with the familiar Electronic-Key adapter with USB interface for communication with the PC. The Electronic-Key adapter is compact enough to fit into the latest control panels with limited installation space and mounting bores measuring 22.5 mm in diameter. Its closed and rounded shape prevents dirt deposits and permits simple cleaning, while its FDA-approved plastic allows it to be used in hygienically sensitive areas such as the food industry.
